Founded by two sisters in Toronto, Canada, zuri is a lifestyle brand inspired by South Asian culture. We founded zuri with the goal of authentically sharing & expressing our unique identity as first-generation South Asian Canadians. Our brand mission is simple: to create high quality basics with minimal designs that are a nod to our South Asian background.

Growing up in Canada, we have often felt disconnected from our roots. Our parents were born in East Africa and their grandparents in India making us uniquely connected to aspects of both East African & Indian culture. We hope zuri, which comes from the African Swahili word for ‘beautiful’, will be a way for others like us to showcase a little bit of their uniquely blended culture in their everyday lives.

We hope our pieces will serve as conversation starters to create authentic connections & encourage you to “wear your culture on your sleeve”.
